Mumbai: When deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty reached the office of the ED in Mumbai this morning, her lawyer said: “Rhea Chakraborty is a law abiding citizen. In view of the fact that the ED has informed the media that the request to postpone the attendance is rejected, she has appeared in the ED at the appointed time and date.”

She was wearing a blue and white salwar suit and a scarf. She was quickly taken up the stairs after the lawyer’s quick statement to the media.

Rhea Chakraborty reached the Enforcement Directorate office with her brother, Showik Chakraborty to record her statement in the money laundering case lodged against her. She has been accused of misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs 15 crore from her boyfriend, the late Sushant Singh Rajput’s bank account.

Meanwhile, the CBI has registered a case against Rhea.

Rhea has been accused by the Bihar Police of abetting Rajput’s suicide and also of financial irregularities involving Rajput’s accounts.

The Bihar Police stated before the Supreme Court that Rhea’s plea seeking transfer of the FIR from Patna to Mumbai is not maintainable.

The state’s police filed an affidavit before the top court, saying that Section 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) cannot be invoked for transferring investigation from one state to another.

The affidavit, filed by Rajput’s father, also alleges that Rhea had the “sole intention to grab crores of rupees” from the deceased actor.
