The issue of strict and proper implementation of mid-day meal schemes was taken up by the Supreme Court on Friday (August 18). The court was hearing a PIL, filed by NGO Antarashtriya Manav Adhikaar Nigraani.

The Court found that barring Telangana and Uttarakhand, none of the states have filed their affidavits on how they propose to implement the scheme in its letter and spirit.

The Court also found that the states had not uploaded on their websites, the district-wise and school-wise data of the scheme.

The Court asked all the states to upload the information on their websites as per its directions. The next hearing is on August 21.
