The Supreme Court on Tuesday (July 11) ordered that the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal must be built by both Punjab and Haryana together and while the case is being heard by the apex court no dharna should be performed against this matter.

The apex court has strongly condemned the Punjab government in this matter, because latter had repeatedly taken dates on the case, prolonging the issue.

The court said that the issue of giving water to Haryana will be taken up after the construction.

The next hearing of the case will be on September 7.
