Supreme Court suspends work for the day as mark of respect for late Justice Shantanagoudar

Following a two-minute silence, Chief Justice N.V. Ramana announced the suspension of judicial business for the day. All matters listed today shall be taken up tomorrow

ILNS: The Supreme Court on Monday suspended judicial business for the day as a mark of respect for Late Justice Mohan M.Shantanagoudar.

Following a two-minute silence, Chief Justice N.V. Ramana announced the suspension of judicial business for the day. All matters listed today shall be taken up tomorrow.

Various High Courts and subordinate courts of the country have already suspended hearings and have closed for today as a mark of respect. The High Court of Himachal Pradesh issued a notification that the High Court and courts subordinate to it shall remain closed on April 26 on account of this. The High Court of Madhya Pradesh shall be holding a full court reference on the demise of Justice Shantanagoudar.

In a notification, the High Court of Rajasthan said the High Court and the courts subordinate to it will remain closed today. The High Court of Punjab and Haryana also issued a similar notification.
