Tandoor Murder Case: Delhi HC extends parole to Sushil Sharma for two more weeks

Delhi HC on Thursday (June 28) extended the parole for two more weeks to former congress politician Sushil Sharma, who is serving life sentence in the infamous 1995 Tandoor Murder Case. Earlier, he was granted parole on
June 20 for 10 days.

Petitioner’s counsel Bharat Dubbe informed the court that “Sushil Sharma, already gone under the description of his sentence. His parents are old-aged and cannot be able to take care of themselves and needed only one month parole as his mother was suffering from several diseases”.

Justice Vinod Goel questioned the petitioner: “This problem may arise every other time, is there nobody else in his family to look after his parents?”

To this counsel informed the bench that he doesn’t have any brothers or sisters and he is the only son. Let the parole be granted for two weeks if not for a month.

Justice Vinod Goel extended the parole to two more weeks. “The petitioner seeks extension of the parole for one month on a ground that his mother is already undergoing treatment for several diseases. He submits that he has to look after his mother as his father is also suffering from several diseases. On the last occasion, the petitioner was allowed to be released on bail to take care of the old aged parents. In these circumstances the parole granted to the petitioner on June 20 extended till July 15,” said Justice Goel.
