Madras High Court division bench dismissed the PIL filed by H. Rajaram seeking the quashing of the appointment of two Tamil Nadu Additional Advocates General while observing that there is no merit in the petition and it may have been better if the petition had not been pressed.

The Allahabad High Court division bench of Acting Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari and Justice Ajai Tyagi has Instructed the Additional Advocate General to take immediate actions against the police officers accused of paddy-wheat purchase scam and defaulting.

The Additional Advocate General has contended that the offence is not compoundable, so the petition may be dismissed.

Justice Nijjar was enrolled as an Advocate of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on April 28, 1977. The Government of Punjab appointed him as an Additional Advocate General on October 13, 1995.
