An arrest warrant has been issued by the Alipur Court in Kolkata against Union minister of state Babul Supriyo of the BJP for obscene comments made against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Mitra.

This warrant was issued by the court on the basis of an FIR filed by Mitra at a police station in the city. Supriyo is to be produced in court on Saturday.

The FIR was lodged at the Alipur police station on January 4. The magistrate thereafter took, in secret, comments from Mitra.

The comment was allegedly made by Supriyo during a television programme.
