Awadh bar association

The amendment was sent to the U.P. Bar Council for its information and acceptance/approval vide letter dated January 17, 2021 which has been duly received in the U.P. Bar Council, however, no information thereafter has been received in this regard by the Awadh Bar Association.

The Allahabad High Court has taken suo motu cognisance of the unruly behaviour of Advocates during the Awadh Bar Association elections, held on August 14.

The Petition stated that under the present system, cases from 60 Districts of UP fall under the jurisdiction of the Principal seat at Prayaraj whereas cases from only 15 districts are filed at Lucknow.

The petitioner has now sought enforcement of this decision which as per them is in line with the state government's initial recommendation and was taken after considering all aspects of the matter.
