The Supreme Court rejected the application of the Bengal government on the appointment of DGP, saying, the DGP of Bengal will be made from the names sent by the UPSC

In a latest development, today the Calcutta High Court ordered that all Durga Puja pandals in the state be declared no-entry zones. The order further stated that only the organizers can enter pandals, while name of those allowed to enter pandals should be displayed outside it.
