The process to increase the strength of Telangana High Court Judges from 24 to 42 has received acceleration from none other than Chief Justice of India, Justice N.V. Ramana.

Two men, Achhar Singh and Budhi Singh, had challenged their conviction by the Himachal Pradesh High Court. One had been sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment and the other to undergo life imprisonment, plus a fine. The High Court had overturned their acquittal by the trial court.

The Supreme Court Chief Justice N.V. Ramana on Friday informed about the demise of former Supreme Court judge Justice M.Y. Iqbal who passed away last night.

Chief Justice NV Ramana agreed to list before the bench led by Justice DY Chandrachud, the Delhi High Court Tuesday order regarding the situation of oxygen supply.

In an urgent meeting with Bar Council of India and Supreme Court Bar association representatives, Chief Justice NV Ramana said that the court will tentatively reopen on June 28.
