Summons have been issued against BJP Delhi President Adesh Gupta, BJP MLA Badarpur Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, BJP MLA Rohini Vijendra Gupta, and BJP Delhi Media Relations Harish Khurana for the offence of defamation of the Delhi Jal Board as an institution as well as its Vice-Chairman Raghav Chadha.

The Delhi High Court, on Monday, stayed the operation of the Single Judge Bench’s decision, wherein it was held that a promise or assurance given by a Chief Minister of a state tantamount to an enforceable promise, and that it is the duty of the Government to enforce it.

The Supreme Court today declined to entertain a plea seeking directions to prevent the “communalisation of the reporting of Covid-19 cases” by Chief Minister of Delhi in his official capacity via different modes as well as on social media via his official and verified twitter handle @CMO Delhi.
