New Delhi (ILNS): The Supreme Court on Tuesday will hear a plea by death row convict in 1995 Bomb Blast case in the porch of Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh, in which Sh Beant Singh, the then Chief Minister of the State of Punjab died along with 16 other person.

A bench led by the Chief Justice S. A. Bobde will hear the criminal appeal filed by the petitioner against the judgment of Punjab and Haryana High Court wherein the High Court had upheld the order of Session court.

The petitioner was convicted with other five accused in the Session Case No. 2-A of 1995 which was registered relating to the incident of Bomb Blast on 31.08.1995 that took placed in the Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat in which the then Chief Minister, Sh Beant Singh 16 others were killed.

In the said session case two accused viz. Jagtur Singh Hawara and Balwant Singh were sentenced to death and the rest of the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment and one accused Nasib Singh was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment.
