Child protection homes

The Division Bench of Justice Harish Tandon and Justice Soumen Sen was yesterday hearing a Suo Motu petition regarding the contagion of COVID-19 in Child Protection Homes.

Justices L Nageswara Rao and Hemant Gupta heard the suo motu petition on the conditions of child protection homes across the country during the pandemic. The court said the Central government, through Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, had said children from protection homes shall not be sent back.....

The Supreme Court today wanted a second opinion on the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ (NCPCR) recommendation that children lodged in child protection homes should be sent back to their families.
