Even as the pandemic left behind thousands of orphans, the centre has put into place a system which makes it easier to adopt them. This includes a tracking portal, making the process relatively straightforward.

The High court held that the girl child was in need of care and protection , thus, the CWC acted upon within their domain and functions prescribed under Juvenile Justice Act and proceeded correctly by taking over the custody of minor girl child.

As the day’s hearing started, the bench said: “We have received a note of a list of dates of action taken by the ministries and nothing else is there in the note.”
