The Supreme Court will today hear the petition regarding shortage of water, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A PIL was registered suo motu by Chief Justice PR Ramachandra Menon and Justice Parth Prateem Sahu because of various interlocutory applications with different prayers with regard to the conditions in jails amid the Covid-19 pandemic and also in respect of some circulars issued by the authorities.

The Supreme Court today agreed to hear an urgent mentioning of a plea by Senior Advocate Siddharth Luthra, seeking a stay on the construction work at “Central Vista Redevelopment Project” during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The Supreme Court on Monday directed private unaided schools – specifically in Rajasthan – to charge 85% of the annual school fees of 2019-20 for the 2020-21 academic year. Around 27 law students from across the country, fearing the critical situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic, wrote a letter to Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana, requesting him to issue uniform guidelines for certain matters related to the current situation.
