Delhi High Court division bench disposed of the plea seeking opening of religious places for visitors subject to strict compliance of covid protocols.

The Delhi High Court bench was hearing a plea filed by the Vasant Vihar Welfare Association against the gathering of Afghan nationals outside the UNHCR office building.

The Madras High Court on Monday asked an accused who allegedly abused police and prevented them from doing their public duty, to pay Rs 10,000 as compensation while noting that the police are already functioning under severe stress due to the pandemic situation.

The affidavit unequivocally stated that the workers working on the project as of now are residing at the work site, following social distancing norms as well as other Covid-19 protocols.

The Supreme Court will hold a special sitting on Saturday to hear a petition regarding arrangements made by the Uttar Pradesh Government on social distancing and Covid-19 protection protocol during the counting of votes for the Panchayat elections which were held on April 29 in various villages.

The Bench went so far as to say that it will stop the counting on May 2, if strict COVID-19 protocols are not devised by it.
