Covid-19 vaccination

The Delhi High Court will on Thursday continue hearing on a petition seeking directions to treat all persons with disabilities who qualify as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 on priority basis for administering Covid-19 vaccine, irrespective of their age.

The Bombay High Court has directed the Municipal Corporation of Greater Bombay to file a short affidavit regarding the number of bed-ridden and immobile individuals, who have been vaccinated till now.

The Health & Family Welfare Department shall file an affidavit, apprising this Court as to how many persons, who are not having proper documents in support of their identification, have been vaccinated, how the second dose of vaccination would be given to such persons and in what manner: Gauhati HC

Almost 100 percent of hospitalised deaths due to the pandemic consists of people who are not vaccinated despite the government making it free and easy for everyone. People are actually risking death to show disbelief in medical science and clinging to policies of the Donald Trump administration.

The matter was yesterday heard by the Single-Judge Bench of Justice Amit Bansal, who remarked that no time-bound direction for implementing the rule of vaccination of pregnant women can be given to the Government.

The PIL had sought a direction to the Central and state governments for door-to-door vaccination for citizens above 75 years of age, people with disabilities, and the immobile.

The Delhi High Court will today hear a petition, seeking prioritisation of vaccination for people, including NRIs holding a valid visa of foreign countries, and also for those students, who opt for foreign education with a valid offer letter from the Universities abroad.

The PIL states that the children have been abridged of their fundamental rights under Article 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India which equally apply to the children as the Constitution recognizes their importance and have made various provisions to nourish the children.
