Emergency Parole

The Delhi High Court on Monday sought response from the Delhi government over a Public Interest Litigation seeking extension of emergency parole of prisoners who are above the age of 65 and prone to Covid-19 infection due to some ailments and medical conditions.

With jailed Ex-Delhi University Professor GN Saibaba filing another emergency petition for parole, this time to attend the last rites of his mother who died on August 1, the High Court of Bombay has notified the state government for a reply.

The Bombay High Court has granted emergency parole of 45 days to Asha Tayade, who was convicted of murder and sentenced to life, serving her term at Yerwada Prison, Pune.
