A single-judge bench of Allahabad High Court heard the petition filed by Saraswati Devi and has strongly criticized the bureaucratic outlook of not giving pension and retirement benefits and family pension to the Chief Food Inspector who retired on 31 December 1993.

Counsel appearing for the applicant says that the applicant has been wrongly implicated in the case registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 289, 336, 504, 506, 353, 307 I.P.C. and section 7 of Criminal Law Amendment Act.
