Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce Bill

The passage of the Bills saw a notice of motion for the removal of the Deputy Chairman. But Article 122 says that the validity of any proceeding shall not be questioned for alleged irregularity of procedure.

Farmers in many states are protesting against three new farm Bills, which were passed in the Rajya Sabha in a charged atmosphere. The row led to the suspension of eight Opposition members for the rest of the session. The MPs later staged a sit-in outside Parliament.

WHO is a farmer? It is such an omnibus term that without an exact definition the farmer can neither be benefitted nor saved. There are reasons why the farmer needs help. The farm sector is the backbone of the Indian economy.
