Frivolous petitions

The Supreme Court judge Justice D.Y. Chandrachud on Tuesday observed that 95% of the cases which are filed in the top court are frivolous in nature. He said that this was taking away the judges’ time.

The bench then directed the state to initiate fresh steps in recovering the costs from the petitioner, that could be gathered from the arrears of land revenue.
