The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday dismissed the petition of a workman seeking relief that the period of his becoming incarcerated, either in police custody or in judicial custody should be declared to be continuous service.

The court said that the transfer is an incidence of service and government employees are supposed to be transferred and posted anywhere in the state

The Additional Advocate General has contended that the offence is not compoundable, so the petition may be dismissed.

The counsel appearing for petitioners submitted that the parties has compromised the matter, and no purpose will be served by keeping the proceedings alive, therefore FIR and other proceedings may be quashed and set aside.
