Following Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informing the Supreme Court that the I&B ministry has issued a show-cause notice on Sudarshan TV, the court today deferred the hearing of the case.

The Supreme Court today observed that a message needs to go out to the media that a particular community cannot be targeted and there is a need to look ahead to a nation of the future which is cohesive and diverse.

The Supreme Court today put off till tomorrow a hearing on a plea against television channel Sudarshan News. This plea pertains to the channel’s programme and alleges that it contains statements in a show called "UPSC Jihad" about how Muslims have "infiltrated" the Indian civil services.
