The Delhi High Court today took up the case of jail inmates misusing the court’s order of bail during Covid, granted on humanitarian grounds. The court also issued notice in an application seeking modification of its earlier order extending the interim bail of those prisoners till October 31.

With Tihar jail authorities agreeing to introduce a common room as well as for provision for a television by end-September 2020, the Delhi High court today disposed of a petition seeking facilities for high security ward prisoners, saying there was no further need for monitoring of the situation.

The Delhi High Court today has asked the jail authorities to consider installing Television in the common area of the high-security ward in the Tihar Jail.
