The Jharkhand government on Saturday recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death case of Dhanbad Additional District and Sessions Judge Uttam Anand

Coming down heavily on the state of Jharkhand for not implementing its last year's directions, the Supreme Court has issued notice to the Standing Counsel of State of Jharkhand, to file an affidavit, as to what steps it has taken in a contempt plea filed by a rape victim.

A three-judge bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy & M. R. Shah has said, the petitioner being a rape victim deserves treatment as rape victim by all the authorities. A rape victim suffers not only a mental trauma but also discrimination from the society, observed the Court in its order.
