Manipur High Court noted that certain defects were pointed out in the framing and filing of the case of land encroached by villagers of Chingkham Kabui, in the context of the High Court of Manipur Public Interest Litigation Rules, 2019, by way of Miscellaneous Case of PIL filed by the State authorities.

The Manipur High Court has disposed of a PIL, seeking constitution of separate Autonomous District Councils for the newly-created hill districts of Noney, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl and Kamjong, stating that the State Cabinet has already taken a decision on the same.

The observation came in a Petition filed by Nandita Haksar seeking directions on the State of Manipur for providing a safe passage to 7 Myanmar-based persons for enabling them to travel to Delhi to seek protection from UNHCR, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi.
