Supreme Court bench decided to nominate an ADJ rank officer to determine "just compensation" to kin of 65 people killed in Meerut Fire Tragedy during a consumer goods fair in 2006 while hearing a petition moved by relatives of victims of the 2006 Meerut fire disaster.

Supreme Court today, gave its judgement against the forceful eviction of top government officials from the Lutyens zone residential complexes with the help of ‘bouncers.

A three judge bench of the Apex Court comprising of Justice RF Nariman, Justice Ravindra Bhat and Justice Ramasubramanian therefore heard and decided the question which relates to the enforcement of the appellate award.
