Supreme Court's Juvenile Justice Committee met with juvenile justice representatives from all high courts along with UNICEF and key Central ministry officials to discuss protecting of children in juvenile and care homes during the Covid surge.
A bench comprising Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, Justice L. Nageswara Rao and Justice Ravindra Bhat heard a petition seeking direction to the Centre to issue strict guidelines and regulations under any other law to prevent the chances of fake and counterfeit coronavirus vaccine.
In initial discussions, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the Chief Justice that Delhi and some other courts have taken suo motu cognisance, but there is a person, Mr Malhotra, who made an application regarding the suo motu case.
A three judge bench of the Apex Court comprising of Justice RF Nariman, Justice Ravindra Bhat and Justice Ramasubramanian therefore heard and decided the question which relates to the enforcement of the appellate award.
