The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a PIL, seeking directions to the Centre for officially recognising the game of hockey as the national game of India.

The majority also set aside other provisions of the Ordinance, including four-year tenure of Chairmen and members of various tribunals, calling them unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court said that an insolvency case against the company does not discharge the liability of guarantors.

The plea stated that hospitals in Noida and Gurgaon have made it mandatory to produce Aadhaar cards with a local Noida or Gurgaon address, as the case may be, for being eligible to be admitted to the hospitals situated there.

Justice Chandrachud said the Supreme Court’s function here is complementary, especially when there is a pan-India issue being considered.
