A single-judge bench of Himachal Pradesh High Court while hearing a Criminal Misc petition filed by Mohd Margoob held that a prisoner/convict cannot be granted extension of parole while exercising jurisdiction under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

The Himachal Pradesh High Court has recently said that an employee is not only expected but is “bound to follow any lawful command of his superiors and in case an employee is aggrieved by any order/direction of his superior, he has to opt a legal and proper course against such order/direction.

Justice Vivek Singh Thakur of Himanchal Pradesh High Court bench noted that respondent-accused was driving vehicle under influence of alcohol, prosecution has relied upon medical evidence as well as evidence of Dr. Amita Bhatnagar.
