A local court in Delhi has framed charges against Rajdhani School owner Faisal Farooq and 18 other people for their alleged involvement in the riots that took place in North East area of Delhi in 2020
During the hearing today, the Delhi High Court said that the speech made by Umar Khalid in Amravati prima facie appears to be objectionable and provocative based on which the case was registered by the police.
A Delhi Court expressed its disappointment over the pendency of the present matter since June 22, 2020 and as the court is not able to commit the same to Sessions Court due to non appearance of Special Public Prosecutor for the state and also due to the lackadaisical attitude of the police officials of the concerned crime branch.
A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to Jawaharlal Nehru University student Sharjeel Imam in a case pertaining to the violence that occurred on the December 13 and 14, 2019 in Jamia Millia Islamia. Imam was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He was also among the several activists accused under UAPA registered by the Delhi Police in the Delhi Riots of 2020.
