A single-judge bench of Allahabad High Court dismissed the petition filed by UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd challenging enhancement of compensation sought by landowners whose lands were acquired for construction of a Thermal Power Plant opined that they are well within their rights to seek enhancement.

Allahabad High Court while hearing a petition filed by Shyoraj Singh and another observed that when the process of land acquisition is completed and the government has taken possession of the land, it can't be expected to keep the police stationed there at all times to maintain physical possession.
