The petition stated that one of the main features of one-year LL.M program is the establishment of a Centre for Post Graduate Legal Studies by the university/college mandated by the UGC which will have a dedicated team of senior teachers competent to guide post-graduate scholars including Ph.D.

The Tripura High Court made the above observation on Tuesday while disposing of an appeal filed by the Tripura University and its authorities challenging the judgment dated September 6, 2018 passed by the learned Single Judge in W.P. (C) No.202 of 2014.

On Monday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court rejected the petitions filed on this demand and stamped the decision taken by the Punjab University.
