The Court said we are of the opinion that the violators cannot be permitted to go Scot free on payment of penalty only. There must be some stringent provisions which may have deterrent effect so that the violators may think twice before committing such offences

The three-judge bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy and M. R. Shah heard the case and has asked the states to file their current status report as well as compliance report. The case has been slated for next hearing on Friday.

New Delhi (ILNS): The Supreme Court bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R. Subhash Reddy and M. R. Shah today dismissed a plea seeking direction to the CBSE and the Delhi government to waive examination fees for students of classes 10 and 12 in the current academic year.
