Restaurateur Navneet Kalra’s advance bail plea in the Delhi High Court will now be heard this evening. Kalra has challenged the dismissal of his advance bail plea by ASJ Sandeep Garg in the morning. The court of Justice Subramonium Prasad will hear the arguments.

The restaurateur is fearing arrest, being named in the FIR for a case registered against him for allegedly black marketing and hoarding of oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment amid the Covid pandemic.

Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa will be appearing for the accused, while Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju will be appearing for respondent State.

In the afternoon, Raju said that he had not received copy of petition. Justice Subramonium asked Pahwa to supply Raju a copy, which was immediately mailed.

A Delhi court on Thursday dismissed the anticipatory bail application of restaurateur Navneet Kalra in a case against him for black marketing of Oxygen Concentrator and other medical equipment during the Covid pandemic.

Saket District Court ASJ Sandeep Garg said, “Navneet Kalra bail anticipatory application dismissed.”

The Saket Court had reserved its order on the Pre-Arrest bail application yesterday after hearing arguments from the accused through his counsel Senior Adv Vikas Pahwa and Adv Vineet Malhotra and for the State Public Prosecutor Atul Shrivastava.

The restaurateur filed the anticipatory bail application after an FIR registered under the Essential Commodities Act, and various other Sections including 420/188/120B and 34 of the Indian Penal Code for black marketing and hoarding of Oxygen Concentrator, Oximeters, N95 marks and other equipment.

Delhi Police on May 7 raided the popular Khan Chacha restaurant in Khan Market owned by Kalra and recovered almost a hundreds of oxygen concentrators after another restaurant in Lodhi Colony was busted.
