A single-judge bench of Allahabad High Court while hearing a Criminal Appeal upheld the conviction of a man who raped a 10-year-old girl in the year 1979.

In this case, the minor rape accused had moved the Supreme Court against High Court order. He sought that he be released forthwith on bail after being presented before the JJ Board as provided by the Juvenile Justice Act's Section 12. But the Apex Court said no.

The Supreme Court on Monday while hearing the special leave petition of a Maharashtra government official, who is accused of raping a minor girl asked whether he was he was ready to marry the victim.
