Minor Rape Victim

The Allahabad High Court has rejected the bail application of a 62-year-old man who raped a three-year-old girl.

A man, who had been convicted of raping his daughter for two consecutive years, has been sentenced to death by a sessions court in Bahraich on Tuesday.

A Delhi Court yesterday disposed of a plea filed by Naveen Kumar Jindal, BJP Spokesperson against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly disclosing the identity of a 9-year-old minor rape victim who was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Delhi Cantonment area.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court recently disposing of the petition, allowed termination of pregnancy of a minor rape victim.

The Supreme Court has directed the state of Haryana to submit the medical report in a sealed cover prepared by medical board on the feasibility of medical termination of more than 26-week pregnancy of a 14-year-old rape victim.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday constituted a medical board to examine whether it would be safe to medically terminate the 26-week pregnancy of a 14-year-old rape victim.

The Kerala High Court on Monday allowed the medical termination of a 26-week pregnant minor rape victim. A single bench of Justice P.V. Asha heard the civil writ petition, and recorded that the continuation of the pregnancy is contrary to the safety and interests of the victim, who is only 15.

Justice Vibhu Bakhru passed the acquittal orders, holding that, given the evidence and material on record, the standard of proof to convict the appellant has not been met. The appeal is, accordingly, allowed. The appellant is acquitted. "He is directed to be released forthwith," said the court.
