Supreme Court bench was informed by Senior Counsel Siddharth Luthra alleged posters were related to a event “Maa Narmada Janmostav” which were put by the friends of the accused and he had nothing to do with it. “There is no linkage with me at all. All of this on social media, not by me,” said Luthra. 

A bench of Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Hima Kohli took note of the submissions of Solicitor General Tushar Mehta that the matter pertains to admissions to post-graduate medical courses and that the students have been facing difficulties.

In a notification, the High Court of Rajasthan said the High Court and the courts subordinate to it will remain closed today. The High Court of Punjab and Haryana also issued a similar notification.
