Come February 5, 34 teams from leading law colleges in India will battle it out in the next edition of Nani Palkhivala Quiz on Constitutional Law 2023, considered as one of the most prestigious events for law students in the country

Bombay High Court division bench heard a PIL filed  concerning the establishment, upkeep and maintenance of crematoria, cemeteries and kabrastans in the State of Goa.  The pleadings reveal a shortage extending to about 43 crematoria, 50 cemeteries and about 172 kabrastans in the State of Goa.

The petitioners have approached the Supreme Court saying the Government of India has discriminated against Hindus by the establishment of the National Commission for Minorities. Any benefits being given on the sole basis of a citizen's religion is against constitutional principles, they contend.

After perusal of the affidavit, the single-judge bench headed by Justice Prathiba M. Singh has said it is completely “unsatisfactory”.

The Delhi High Court on Monday directed the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) to file a status report explaining why many posts are lying vacant since October 2020.
