Supreme Court was hearing a petition preferred by Aditya Dubey a 17-year-old student from Delhi who had approached the apex court aggrieved by the deteriorating air quality in Delhi & NCR.

Delhi Government submits it has already rejected the petitioners request, we cannot allow Spas to operate in the present circumstances. Even the Central Govt has not replied to it. It has not relaxed it.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has imposed a total ban on the sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in the NCR from the midnight of November 9 -10 to the midnight of November 30 - December 1, 2020.

Even as the national capital is enveloped by smoke from stubble burning in the surrounding states, its government has initiated a number of steps to curb it. Will they succeed and lead to cleaner air?

The Delhi government is preparing bio-chemicals which can reduce stubble to manure and be sprayed across 800 hectares of farmland near the national capital.
