The Supreme Court judge Justice DY Chandrachud said that many times ,the social media users, who follow court proceedings, fail to understand and differentiate between oral remarks made by judges during court proceedings and the actual order that is passed by the court.

Justice Chandrachud stressed on the point that observations by judges could be seen in other light as well.
He said even lawyers sometimes show the other angle and points which were not considered or brought before the judge.
He added that observation are merely dialogues during hearings.

He said but the point is “Social media thinks that every time we say something that’s the judgment. Lawyers can correct us also, it’s only for a dialogue,”

The judge made these remarks while hearing a plea by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which was seeking for seeking to amending its Constitution.

The amendments proposed by the BCCI is to do away with the mandatory cooling-off period between tenures of office bearers across State cricket associations and the BCCI.

The BCCI also looks forward to amendments to change the cooling-off period so that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah can continue in office.

In the month of July,the Supreme Court had appointed Senior Counsel and the former Additional Solicitor General Maninder Singh as Amicus Curiae in the case
