Physical Hearing

Justice U U Lalit of the Supreme Court today indicated that there is a possibility of physical hearings, in a controlled form and in limited matters, resuming in two weeks.

The Supreme court today rejected Senior Counsel Dushyant Dave’s plea for a physical court hearing in Prashant Bhushan’s suo motu criminal contempt case.

With the demand for resumption of physical functioning of the Supreme Court rising, the court today (July 22) decided to form a seven-judge committee to look into whether resumption of Physical Court hearings was actually advisable within the COVID pandemic atmosphere.

The Ahmedabad Bar Association has written a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court to open city Civil Courts for Physical Hearing.
