lmost after a year, the Competent Authority of the Supreme Court in a meeting with the executive committee of the Supreme Court Advocates-On-Record Association and Supreme Court Bar Association on Saturday has decided to start physical hearings in a hybrid manner soon.
SC has released a user guide for limited physical court hearings in wake of the Covid 19 pandemic. The 17- page release provides a user guide for e-nomination of Counsel, e-nomination of clerk, e- application for special hearing pass and e-submission for health declaration.
While most courts in the country are in virtual mode amid this pandemic and physical hearings are a rarity and mostly urgent matters are being heard over video conferencing, one set of litigants are using this as an opportunity to manage relief by suppressing facts.
In the wake of Covid-19, all courts have remained shut for nearly five months and have been holding hearings through video conferencing. Although lockdown restrictions were eased from June onwards, courts have continued to hold only virtual hearings.
