There has been a spike in hate speeches recently. While laws have been largely ineffective, a new threat is posed by algorithms which drive prejudiced people to extreme bias by offering videos and posts.

The cyber attack on AIIMS was worrying and has highlighted the need for cyberspace security. India needs to enact a new national cyber security policy and follow China and the US in tightening laws in this regard.
