The Karnataka High Court, while  noting that the main allegations of forgery and cheating were against the lawyer and not his son or wife , granted anticipatory bail to the wife and son of the lawyer accused of sending fake orders to client.

A series of shocking judgments are proof that India still has a long way to go before it can be recognised as a gender sensitive State, or judiciary for that matter. Indian courts continue to use language and reasons in their orders that diminish the offence and trivialise the victim’s experience 

The three-judge bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justices Surya Kant and Aniruddha Bose noted that courts are granting protection from arrest to accused for long periods like 90 days, though no case for anticipatory bail is made out.
