The Supreme Court has observed that under section 167 Criminal Procedure Code in appropriate cases it will be open to courts to order “house arrest” while dismissing the statutory bail plea filed by social activist Gautam Navlakha in Bhima Koregaon Case.

A three- Judge Bench of Justice Arun Mishra, Justice Navin Sinha and Justice Indira Banerjee set aside order of the Delhi High Court stating that the High Court should not have entertained interim bail plea of social activist Gautam Navlakha in Bhima Koregaon.
