Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 (SECC-2011)

Supreme Court on Monday, adjourned the hearing on the petition seeking caste census. A bench by Justice Nageswara Rao today said one such petition is pending in another bench as well. The Maharashtra government had already filed a petition in the Supreme Court on the subject of caste census.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the Maharashtra government’s petition seeking to direct the Central government to make public the raw data from the Caste-based census carried out in 2011.
