The Bombay High Court has disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) expressing concern to protect Bisons, which tend to stray within the city limits and failure on part of the respondents to act in terms of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) prepared in 2015.
The Court has modified the SOP slightly. According to a press release on Friday, all the cases which have been listed on the three non-miscellaneous days will be heard physically, however the matters listed on miscellaneous days will be heard physically with an option of appearing virtually on prior application submission.
The Delhi High Court has put out a new Standard Operating Procedure to be enforced from November 22 for “Physical Court hearings”. The High Court has restricted attendance at entry into the court block, for the purposes of attending physical hearings and VC Court room hearings
Debjani Ghosal, Counsel for the petitioner, submitted that in course of transportation of such cattle to Meghalaya from West Bengal, various police stations on the way stopped the Petitioner's truck and seized the cattle, and also arrested the personnel engaged in such transportation.
The petitioner submitted that Challans should be payable online, even if the SOP is not implemented. “I am not the violator and they never contacted me for violation. When I was transferring the vehicle, they called me to pay the challans,” he said.

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has unanimously decided to write a letter to the Chief Justice of India, requesting him to hear them against the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Apex Court for hybrid physical hearing without any consultation with the Bar.
In the petition, the SCBA claimed that the SOP for hybrid physical hearings was issued by the Registry of the Supreme Court without consultation with the Bar and if virtual hearings are allowed to continue permanently,
