Supreme Court division bench while hearing a Criminal Appeal filed by Mohd. Afzal @ Guddu And Another acquitted the petitioner and his brother and setaside the decision of the lower court in the case of murder of a person under district Bulandshahr police station Gulawadi.

The Delhi High Court sentenced a Delhi Police sub-inspector to undergo simple imprisonment for one day, along with a fine of Rs 2,000, for arresting a person in contempt of guidelines laid down by the Apex Court.
