The Supreme Court on Thursday orally urged the All-India Trinamool Congress (AITC) to inquire into acts of vandalism and hooliganism and revive its writ petition in the Tripura High Court regarding immediate action on complaints of victims of assault, intimidation and other criminal activities.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on a plea filed by Abhishek Bannerjee, Trinamool Congress MP and nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, along with his wife Rujira Banerjee, who had approached the Delhi High Court, seeking quashing of summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate in a case of alleged money laundering in the West Bengal Coal Scam.
The state government questioned the independence of the CBI, contending agency was acting at the behest of the centre and was targeting leaders and workers of the ruling TMC. The State of West Bengal had moved the Apex Court against the order passed by the Calcutta High Court on August 19, 2021.
